>>87078803I like WW a lot.
I like how THEORETICALLY, she's graceful and all-loving, a staunch pacifist who preaches love and peace, and only gets her hands dirty when she absolutely has to, and doesn't ever kill, similar to Batman and Superman. They really need to write her more like that nowadays instead of the Amazonian warrior who has no problem with killing much of the time. I love her more as a compassionate person who tries to understand everybody, even the worst of criminals, to the point where she tries to reform them (remember THAT, DC? WW used to do that shit).
I love how she represents sexuality. I love that she's bi; she's a queer superheroine with some kinks. That aspect of her is more toned down but it's there. If anything, it's always been there.
I love the crazy sci-fi of the Golden Age WW, where Paradise Island had all this crazy shit like kangas the Amazons would ride and the Purple Ray, which could heal anything. There's this element to WW where she's steeped in Greek mythology, but DC's version of the Amazons is a little..."unique" compared to most other versions. Not only that, but in Man's World, she finds herself up against weird supervillains like Dr. Psycho, Giganta, the Silver Swan, and so on. I love it when DC remembers that WW wasn't always about Greek myths.
I love her Lasso of Truth. There's like this certain all-American aspect to WW, almost like a rodeo show, even though she's an Amazon from a tribe whose origins lie with the Greeks. It's an odd aspect to her character that I've always liked. She's not perfect by any means, but she's great when written well and she still has a lot of potential.
