Sabine was a qt314 this episode. I like that her hair color is normal now, not that dyed neon stuff.

Also, they really upped the graphics this season. Episodes are looking a lot better.

No, Filoni drew some concept art during TCW for them, but the ideas for it never left his artbook.

Since then, nothing, and I would wager than they aren't coming back because he and Pablo jokingly admitted that the Vong were controversial when he showed his concept art.

Now that the Vong canonically never existed, I doubt they're going to knowingly bring back something so controversial.

You're right about that, it's just that it sounds pretty goofy and can take you out of the moment.

Also the "Nooo!!" might be in character as well for Anakin, but unlike the Krayt Call, the scene is far more serious, and the "Noooo!" takes you out of it in a far worse way.

And I'm not even one of those guys that laughs as the "Nooo!" usually, it's just weird hearing it at that part.

Considering how much of Dark Horse's stuff Marvel has already reprinted under the Legends banner, I'd say yeah. Probably won't be for a while, though. Wait for focus to return to the Clone Wars era, publish a few more stories, then bundle them like they're doing with the Leia, Lando, and Chiewie comics. That's just my guess, though.

The "everything is equal canon" is the coolest shit I can think of. One big multimedia universe. Just feels so awesome reading a book and thinking about how it "counts".

It's funny how the MCU doesn't have near this amount of connectivity. Contradictions aside, they can't even get the movies to acknowledge the shows. Not even the critically acclaimed Netflix shows. And here you have Star Wars making some literally who from the Clone Wars years ago into the main character in a movie.

And that's just neat.

Reading a book, and then having the events or character development actually affect something in another book or comic, or cartoon, is the most satisfying thing ever.

Literally everything is connected to something else in a minor way, and it's very rewarding to experience.

Saw's 4 episodes alone show the formation of the first official Rebel Cell.

Yes I do. Crossovers in comics and such are common yes, but not in a huge multimedia franchise across many different medias, and certainly not on such a huge scale where the creators are proudly creating an equal canon.

Compare to the MCU. Are there any MCU books? Tv shows (that they actually care about and treat as canon), or cartoons, or comics? Nope, only the movies "count".

Star Wars is the biggest example of an all-canon multimedia, and that's very exciting.

Not really necessary, since that was a retcon to try to connect two conceptually similar characters. Her lightsabers don't actually resemble the ones Ventress had in the EU (and funny enough, in the Clone Wars microseries they look completely different from how they were being drawn in the comics at the time).

TCW does not, I repeat DOES NOT, fit with the EU. George made no attempt at hiding that he didn't consider the EU canon, not even when working on TCW. There is a ton of inconsistencies when trying to fit it into the EU, such as pretty much all the Jedi deaths. The Wook desperately tried to work around it, but fact is, TCW was never ever meant to fit with the EU, but was the first step in replacing it.

You know, the only reason that book wasn't made Canon is because they know they would want to use Kenobi in the future, and didn't want that book to cause problems.

Heir to the Jedi was also being finished at the same time, and was allowed to be Canon.

But yes, it makes sense that the EU would try and fit in with TCW, even if it wasn't happening vice versa, because Leeland was trying to maintain the tier system so that the books still had a place. It was kind of a mess though, glad it's over.

Books can get really bad like that. There are some about naval/air radar systems and they go for 4000.- IIRC because they're out of print. I also remember someone posting one about the Tomcat that went for 1000. Not sure who would ever pay that much, but there seems to be no limit to how stupidly expensive books can get.

It, like Darth Plagueis, weren't made canon because they weren't from George. That's it. There is no ulterior motive here. The only things that survived the Purge were the movies and TCW - things he had a direct hand in making from start to finish.

I dont normally write fan fiction for anything but I've been very tempted to write a story in the starwars setting. How does this sound for a premise?

The city of Suun Ra; capitol of the recently uplifted world of Suun, sits in a prediciment. Facing a republic invasion, it's proud populace clings tightly to thier independence, but alone they are not strong enough to fend off the elite clone army. With an offer of alliegence from the Seperatists, the senate of Suun and the leauge of Seven holds an emergency meeting in the early morning hours. Knowing full well that the Suun Defence Force is at it's end, and with the republic possibly only days away from entering the capitol; it was time to make a decision that could forever alter the future of Suun. Would they fight to the end, surrender to the republic war machine or give away their independence to the CIS?

I am not planning on using any existing star wars characters, save for maybe a cameo by Delta Squad but other then that I have my own villins and heros in the beginning phases of writing and I've ecked out a rough roadmap of where the plot would take the story

I read it in 5th grade ten years ago so I'm a little uncertain if I remember it completely right
I thought it was pretty good at the time but I'm not sure if it was, I was biased by excitement for star wars and refused to think negatively about my favorite series
Looking back the way they were written was kinda clunky and slow but the story was interesting

Unless Ahsoka comes back, sure won't be a very good character. Her established character dynamic doesn't really mesh well with current Rebel characters.

The problem is, Ahsoka can't come and bail Kanan and Ezra out against Barriss, because she already made her big entrance like that when she saved them both from SS/FB.

Hopefully they will expand a bit, and show that as he travelled around with Luke, Ben also saw what a mess 'his mother' and the Rebellion had plunged the galaxy into, such as slaver economies on previously '1st world' planets, and ruined worlds, with a few Imperial words still looking good and having order. Snoke's seduction can then be equal parts 'the Empire gave the galaxy order, but it took your grandfather, and the dark side, to give him the will to make the hard choices. To do what must be done'. That shit could have a serious effect on a young and troubled teen, especially if the 'Jedi way' seemed to be accomplishing little.

Basically, as long as they don't make it all mental attacks with the force and grooming allegory.

I think Fisher did a great performance, considering she has fried herself with substance abuse. Look at any interviews with her a couple of years back.

Mark I think was ecstatic, and as much as I like the guy and love Luke, I think he took it personally that he basically got a cameo. I imagine he had images of basically being New Jedi Order edition Luke, sharing the spotlight. From what they said about being unable to give him a big role without him more or less becoming the center of attention and stealing the spotlight, I imagine he might even have been told and have filmed his own death scene already.

I think Fisher only did it for the money.

Anthony Daniels has been pretty supportive. He even jumped onto the "wow yeah, the prequels were bad, it was so horrible working with that greenscreen" bandwagon despite Threepio not having that many greenscreen scenes (and the few he did have usually had a real set, like Padme's balcony). Then again, Daniels has always been a "I'll talk nice if you pay me" kind of guy.

Mayhew seemed to be the only classic cast member who was and remains genuinely enthusiastic. He seems to be legitimately happy to be Chewie again, even if he needs a double now.

You can kind of tell in a few scenes that she and Ford are having trouble taking the material seriously. Ford does well with lines that aren't specifically grounded in sci-fi/fantasy. Any line that you could easily put into a cop movie or a sports movie or anything like that, Ford does well. Any line that mentions space or the Force or hyperspace or galaxies or anything that reminds him that he's in a Star Wars movie, Ford seems to lose interest. There's a few of those he delivers solidly but a lot of them you can see the "I hate this space crap" look on his face and you can hear his enthusiasm fade.

He and Carrie had already checked out in ROTJ (though for Carrie it was less that she wasn't enthused so much as she wasn't as clean and sober as she should've been) but Mark still seemed to have his head in the game.

Mark and Ian McDiarmid are really the only principal non-masked cast members in ROTJ that seemed like they wanted to be there.

I shit talked the game because it retcons critical moments in KOTOR 2 namely the Exile. I also felt it was completely unnecessary and wanted KOTOR 3 instead. Avellon's ideas for 3 sounded incredible. We could've had New Vegas in Space.

I take it a step further. Even with the movies, I don't consider them canon, because actors and set designers can make mistakes.

The events, characters, places, and objects are canon, but if you take a movie at face value, you'd have to accept human error.

Yes, but being a cartoon does not necessarily make something "cartoony".

That image is this thing called stylization. All animation does it.

Rebels in particular uses Ralph McQuarrie's concept art as a basis for its style

Outside of the Stormtrooper helmets and Aresko's head, not really. It's stylization is primarily based on art by Ralph McQuarrie. Stylization doesn't make something "cartoony" by itself.

Did they remove the turrets from the LAATs?

The wing ones were stupid but the door gunners were at least somewhat sensible.

Shame about the V-Wings though, they are great ship designs. ARCs too though.

It's possible that the ARCs and V-Wings weren't introduced until much later in the war. After all, TCW didn't go right up until it's end, leaving a few months to go. Or, they introduced them in the same vein as how the Rebellion got it's letter-wings; only certain groups in the overall army got specific ships to use, before they spread out amongst everyone else over time.
