>>85786202He wouldn't be more protective. He isn't more protective of Summer and Rick's still nihilistic, he still lives in a universe where he could conceivably get a replacement Morty.
Like, he'd still be protective in his own way like he is with male Morty, he'll still straight up murder King Jellybean, he'd still sacrifice himself to save Morty from floating space forever. No matter Morty's sex, he or she is still Rick's grandkid and Rick does have some good in him.
But Rick already uses Morty to ease his guilt of having left Beth. Morty being a girl would have zero impact on him, Rick's too smart to let himself act differently just because it's his granddaughter beyond normal social norms like being icked out by her liking boys.
At best, I can see Rick patronizingly doing shit like opening jars or lifting boxing while belittling her for having weak girl arms. He'd still be doing shit like handing her a pistol and telling her to shoot space cops, he'd still be desensitized to her suffering, he'd still not act like it's a big deal to bury his granddaughter's corpse next to his own in their back yard in an alternate dimension. It's not a Japanese annie-may with a super male-dominated culture and women treated like children, Rick simply doesn't come from that sort of culture and his entire MO is recklessly endangering his family because he has ceased to give a fuck.
