>>85710141Technically, TECHNICALLY, the main line canon has a Kiyone. But it isn't "Kiyone" Kiyone. It's Noike, Tenchi's arranged fiance. We're introduced to her as a character from the Jurai royal family or some shit, and on top of being some kind of space elf variant: she is an ENORMOUS Mary Sue. When Mihoshi meets her she flips out and it turns out she and Mihoshi were partners for years and Noike can't stand her because she's a ditz. So you get a lot of Kiyone's stuff sort of in there (blue-green hair, kind of tough, officer fed up with Mihoshi) but then you get her shit in there, too (everyone loves her immediately, perfect wife, has emotions that people care about for no reason).
And then the bullshit train comes into the station and we get her back story. Turns out she's
Kagato who was
a hermaphrodite who
split himself into his male and female forms and then she was left on a planet all alone. Eventually she was found by the Jurai royal family and adopted, but the royal family member who found her used Dr.Clay to regress her age so she would be a baby again and she forgot everything. During the fight with the final boss, Tenchi
becomes god (like for real) and
goes back in time, where he learns everything and has a conversation with her non aged down version. At the end of the series the time displaced original version of Noike and normal Noike fuse and she gains the memories of her original self.
Tenchi...Tenchi gets weird.
There are hints dropped through out the ending of that OVA and some of the books too, that point to Kenshi actually being the reincarnation of the final boss of the OVA as well. Effectively being Tenchi's half brother, an inter-dimensional bioandroid-robotpilot, and the final boss from the main series all rolled into one.
