If they're like me they're procrastinating on something. This thing updates every day, and every day someone deigns to venture onto Jeph's site and retrieve this garbage to lay at our feet so that we can idly poke at it without doing too much work. Criticizing this shit requires no thought because not much thought is put into it in the first place, allowing people's minds to pretend to be occupied and justifying the time we spend to do it. There's also the occasional mildly amusing edit, but those are like tinder for an already raging fire.
There's so much momentum behind these threads that I believe if the person(s) who post it everyday just suddenly stopped, someone else would feel compelled to do it because, in a twisted way, they'd feel like something was missing from their lives if they couldn't behold this greasy diarrhea of a comic. In fact, I'm sure that's happened already. Probably several times.
