>>84397619This is probably the wrong thread for me to ask and i am not sure how to put it, just bear with me.
I got furry friends. To me, being a furry would mean to have an interest in anthropomorphic animals, therefore, such fans would known or at least to an extent have knowledge about obscure animal characters. Like how a fan of horror should to an extent have knowledge about obscure horror, be it from books, movies or vidya.
There was a thread yesterday about cartoons you vaguely remember. I posted some from the thread to furry friends, like Silverwing, Animalympics, Moi Renart, Gargoyles, Command Review, Sherlock Hound, Blacksad. And to an extent, recent video games, asking if they had heard about them. No one had heard about any of these.
Now, i don't dwell in the fandom and don't see much other what said friends mention at times. But to me, from what i've gathered is that during the 90's that might have been the case. But today it is more like "This is my character. Look at the thing my character is doing. Could you please draw my character for me. This is a fetish my character is in to"
In the sense that it has become more self-centered and less about the medium itself?
