DM gets obsessed with Dragon Age: Origins, new campaign is built around an obvious rip-off of The Fade, and an NPC exactly like Zevran.
DM reads a bunch of Anne Rice books and half-way into a running campaign, it becomes all about vampires abruptly. DM tries to finish campaign as fast as possible to convince everyone to play Vampire: The Masquerade.
DM gets into zombies, zombie hordes everywhere. DM gets into anime, decides to have a "beach episode" in the campaign. DM obsessed with puzzles and shit, forces everyone to go through some elaborate puzzle lock bullshit, angry when he forgets that the fire mage can just melt through the lock. Etc.
DMs making campaigns or individual sessions all about the media they're currently consuming is a problem I've had with numerous different DMs.
