>>83857855It helps that most of us grew up in an era before social media and smartphones. We learned at an early age how to separate our real-world lives from our internet lives.
But nowadays, with the barrier not existing anymore, so the younger people treat the Internet as something 100% serious and truthful. So when somebody gets called a nigger or fag or retard, they react with total indignation. Plus, as Bret Easton Ellis wrote last year, the newer generations have been pampered and coddled and smothered by their "helicopter parents", resulting in their fragile ego. And they think everyone is just as thin-skinned and easily TRIGGERED as them, hence why we have the "I'll be offended for you!" types.
As a result, we have an entire generation of people fighting fiercely to censor everything that is "offensive", "insensitive", "problematic", etc. not just on the Internet but in the real world - of course, they cannot make the distinction between either. God help us all.
