The Ripping friends began airing at about the same time my parents stopped monitoring my media intake, and while I didn't know it was JK at the time I watched it, and any cartoon that read like "one of those shows I'm not supposed to watch," for exactly that reason. Of them all, Rocko's Modern Life is the only one I have any fond memories of, and The Ripping Friends seems to have been definitively forgettable.
I'd end up binge watching around 10~15 episodes of Ren & Stimpy later on, only to find myself laughing maybe once per-episode at best. Everything was either blunt shock-value and bland puns/plays-on-words.
