Your analogy is so wrong, I hardly know where to even start.
First, drugs are a category full of harmless or very useful substances.
Aspirin makes you feel better and it's not at all bad for you.
Same for most medication. It is supposed to make you feel better and be better.
And just because food is quickly prepared and delicious does not at all make it bad for you.
A fresh fruit salad can be awesome and is ready in no time.
Much street food you get in Asia tends to be not very fattening, either.
Take Vietnamese summer rolls. Those are great and low on fat and salt, depending on how much sauce you dip them in.
And worse than that, you condemn entertainment media for being entertaining?
I think, my good man, you miss the point here.
Being fun to watch is the entire purpose of a movie. And unlike modern paintings, critics and wider audiences tend to agree on what's the good stuff here.
Much the same with comics, really. If it is not fun to read, what good is it, then?
If I want to gain greater insight into the human condition, I shall read Politeia, Lunyu, or The Prince; thank you very much.
And what if I accidentally have fun reading Kant? Do I throw it out lest it cloud my mind with joy?
