As a result, /tg/ enthusiasts don't bitch about "casuals" as much. If you play, you're a player, and if you don't play, you're a potential player. If you like old games, you can still play those (some of us still play original D&D,) and if you like new games, those are options too.
It's honestly kinda hard for us to understand the doom and gloom that comic and vidya people express when their hobbies get popular. "Oh no, more people are starting to love the thing we love! Be assholes to them, drive them away before they make our thing mainstream!" Imagine if that actually happened, and we got to a place where comics were sold in every convenience store and read on every bus, and the laughter and the clatter of dice echoed from every window. Fuckin' paradise.
