If Ash wasn't an insane shut-in without any sense of normalcy or life experience she'd have known that that a relationship is built up over time, and any experience that begins in sex and seduction is virtually certain to be short and shallow or long and painful.
That's the allure of this comic. There's only one character who is normal and sane and she won't put up with a certain amount of shit, and all of the horrible shitty personalities the characters have are not given an excuse and are allowed to cause consternation to themselves.
