>>82697179Early 20th century feminism tended to ignore the struggles of certain groups. White women told black women to stop complaining about racism so they could focus on feminism. Straight women told gay women (and men, and trans people) the same thing once the gay rights movement got going.
Intersectional feminism tries to include all of these struggles. It recognizes that there are different ways in which minorities can be discriminated against and that there's no point in fighting amongst each other about who's struggles are the most important. It's a more inclusive feminism which also helps men (who can be gay, or non-white, or poor, etc.).
