>>82751716>>82757087>Also towards the end Harold does mention something about "Us 3 being lost, going on adventures" before Mina calls him to remind him this is still a slice of life show.>turning this show from slice of life to atmospheric mystery adventure in New Orleans>Good, if this show leaves its slice of life style etc.I see the "Slice of life" genre thrown around like a buzzword in these threads quite a lot, and often put in a negative spotlight, yet the current vision of what constitutes a “Slice of Life” is way off in them.
This is not a "Slice of life" show neither does its narrative style resemble that of a "Slice of life".
A "Slice of life" can be mysterious, it's very often atmospheric, and can have plenty of adventure in it as long as the action is grounded in reality and the mundane isn't a excuse for things to explode, it’s even better when a “Slice of life” is aware of its setting and takes place in a real world location.
If anything the show would benefit from being a “Slice of life”.
There may be “Slice of life”/mundane/grounded in reality” barebone scenarios spiced in this rendition of “Bunnicula”
>Mina cooks spaghetti for her dad and watch a sci-fi movie just before she goes to bed. >Mina tells a horror story to friends in an attempt to impress them during a sleepover.>Mina goes to a pet adoption event because she likes animals that much. (See where this is going?)The problem is that all these scenarios are completely overshadowed by the time the cute critters meet a crazy ass monster or paranormal event that has to be resolved in the most unconventional and often absolutely ridiculous way, ( more than ¾ of every single episode released this far).
If "Bunnicula" (2016 cartoon) is a "Slice of life" then it's the worst "Slice of life" ever made.
Finally.
