But I agree, I don't see YD throwing a full invasion at Earth since it's so small.
I DO see her taking a personal interest in this shit and doing something harsh though. You can tell she hates Earth, most likely due to the events of the Rebellion 5,500 years ago.
When she finds out Steven's some Gem abomination AND has the gem of Rose Quartz, the one that caused that Rebellion, she's going to take things personally. Whether that means a personal visit or just sending her top brass, who knows. But it will be game changing either way.
Further down the line, The idea of them facing off Homeworld itself does require some more outside help.
My best bet is that if Pyramid Gem is White Diamond, that they'll be able to get her to their side or something, making it Best Diamond & Steven vs Blue/Yellow.
Alternatively, they could have a time where they go to Homeworld and incite another Rebellion, closer to home.
