The ending was Lord English proper after emerging from Scratch. Two different points on the timeline and somewhere in the present.
The timeline of the house juju is really vague, but. John and friends kids are sucked into it in a/the future with little cal, and are released(?) from it in the past (present) to fight English for Act 7. At the same time, the present kids are already about to enter the ultimate reward door, which becomes the juju and either absorb them again in the retcon timeline, or alert them to retcon travel to "defeat" kid cal.
