>>81670409Karkat. I will repost the rant I posted yesterday to explain why:
Like so many other characters in Homestuck, Karkat has been reduced to a parody of himself. The Karkat we saw before Act 6 had serious issues, to be sure, but he wasn't a complete incompetent. He just had a chip on his shoulder that caused him to bite off more than he could chew, which meant that when something inevitably went wrong he'd berate himself for screwing up (even if it legitimately wasn't his fault), which would lead to him biting off more than he could chew the next time he got up to something. In short, his problem was that he did not understand his limits.
His anger issues were a defense mechanism; he didn't want anyone to see his inner vulnerability, so he covered it up with an ultimately-meaningless rage. He felt like a real person.
In Act 6, he's a stereotypical comedic buffoon. The Homer Simpson of Homestuck. He can't do anything right, and we're to laugh at him when he inevitably messes up or says something dumb. His problem now is his limits: anything beyond breathing is presented as difficult for him. His angry tirades, which once covered up his soft interior, are now shallow and pointless. If a character is a compressed representation of a real person, Act 6 Karkat is a compressed representation of a character.
In short, Andrew Hussie is a fucking hack.
