After Hanner became so popular, he entered a cycle of spam and focus, where after one waifu became stale, he'd throw a ton more in a relatively quick interval until the fans picked up on one, after which he focuses on that one. It happened with Marigold, Claire, and now May.
Claire was a bit of a mystery, because even after it was clear she was the fan favorite, Jeph couldn't really focus on her, because she's too volatile since he's under constant SJW supervision, so he couldn't even do the standard relationshit he always does.
