>>80727732His first run was As The Crow Flies, where Scarecrow became a were-Scarecrow, who turned into Scarebeast and knew Batman's secret identity.
Also he introduced his waifu of a character Dr Fright, who was just Scarecrow but a girl and smarter than Scarecrow (and basically everyone else).
I don't like Scarecrow (he's okay, just not my favorite villain), but my solution would not be making a female version that was better than him but otherwise the same (she was an albino, too).
The problem with the rest of the arcs Winick wrote was that it just had Batman standing there going "huh! whoa! what?" like he was being possessed by Keanu Reeves from Bill and Ted as he tried to figure out the mystery of Jason Todd.
Which was the other problem. Winick was fucking obsessed with Jason Todd. The comics became more about him than anyone else, and then he became obsessed with Black Mask and the comics were mostly Jason Todd and Black Mask talking shit to each other, fighting, making alliances, betraying.
Some people may not find a problem with that, but they'r elikely the same people who bitch about their character getting overshadowed when Batman comes into the picture, and this is basically the same deal. Except Winick's obsession was clear, because the dude couldn't write a comic without having them in there.
