>>80652152The thing you autists don't realize is that adapting a movie doesn't mean copy-pasting comics on the big screen
The studios should be called out when they make *relevant* stupid decisions and if their movies suck, not because MAYBE Tony Stark helped Spidey put together his suit, or because you think Cap should always have wings detatched from the rest of the helmet
Examples of situations where making things "just like the comics" didn't really help
>TASM2 featured supposedly the perfect Spiderman suit, but the movie sucked>TASM Spiderman quipped a lot just like in the comics, but sometimes the script focuses so much on the idea that he HAS to make jokes that it comes off as forced and Spidey sometimes even ignores people in danger because of the jokes>Watchmen may have copied the comic panel to panel, but for some fans most of the subtext and themes got lost into translation, making the adaptation arguably less effective despite the cosmetic fidelity>In MoS Superman killed Zod "just like Byrne!", had inspirational quotes "just like All Star", had a more troubled Clark "just like Earth One!", but picking up all this different stuff from different stories and interpretations of the character don't make the movie the perfect adaptation, some things just don't fit togetherJust look at Raimi's Spiderman: it didn't have mechanical webshooters, Spiderman arguably doesn't quip enough, most of Goblin's gear had military origins. Did that hurt the movie? Fucking not, the trilogy is still among the best capeshit adaptations
Did Batman (1989) suck because Joker killed Bruce's parents?
Did Begins suck because Batman killed Ras?
Did Ant-man suck because Pym was a sort of secret agent instead of a superhero and founding Avenger?
Adaptation = we take the basic ideas from source X and we ADAPT them to a different kind of medium, liberties are almost a taken
