>>80620288I really do love the movie, it really hits all the good spots for me as a family cop movie.
I've found that I really enjoy the fanart as well, mostly because most of it is just about Nick and Judy with each other, which was a great aspect of the movie itself, far more so than any of the sister's interactions in Frozen. They just don't hold a candle to them. I can do without the artwork that emphasizes the fact that they are animals. But at the same time, the humanizations of them also feel just entirely disingenuous. The way that the movie presents the characters, the style and design seems to be utterly perfect for what it is and changing it too far into on direction or the other ruins the magic that the designers captured.
I've seen it twice on my own, and would honestly look forward to a third viewing, though I wouldn't mind being a little bit late to the theater. The opening, while very important, feels like it's just a
hare too long, for my tastes. But I really felt the same about Hot Fuzz, and that movie requires that long lead up to the finale for any of it to work, so I really can't complain.
Both times I saw it I noticed more, obviously, the target store (was it Tarcat?) for example. The animation as you've said it great. I love that Nick never really has his hands at his sides when he's moving around, you can see him holding them sort of infront of him, like if you lifted up a dog or cat onto their hind legs. The tops of his hands almost always face forwards. Disney really did a great job with those little bits of detail, to say nothing of the city itself looking far more real than many other settings they've done.
