>>80578711>What exactly is the anti-life equation? It's God's evil twin. If I understand correctly.
Opinions vary. Originally, the Anti-Life equation was a formula which gave you the power to inflict your will on anyone else, because "If you are not free, then you are not truly alive". Fittingly, the "Life equation" basically was that the Source - God - would allow people to choose their path.
However, in the 'Cosmic Odyssey', Metron discovered a being beyond all know existence that was considered the Anti-Life entity. It rarely made another appearance.
Much later, Scott Free revealed he possessed, and always had possessed, the Anti-Life Equation, and that he never used it, because his very being loathed the notion of limiting freedom. But when Barda, his beloved, was murdered, he used its power to find her killer. This in the end unleashed the full power of the Anti-Life Equation, which was revealed to have been the plan of the Source.
The Source explained that the Anti-Life Equation is an entity which is its counterpart, opposite and missing half, which it has been longing to merge with once again basically since Creation, and all of that was a part of the plan.
But pretty much everybody ignores "Death of the New Gods". It wasn't very good and it didn't jibe with 'Final Crisis', which reintroduced the Anti-Life Equation as a formula which suppressed free will. Basically, if you learn it, you become a slave to Darkseid, or presumably anyone who possesses it.
