If pheasants were as cool as you claim they are, they would alrady be integral part of majority of cartoons.
Squeezing them in every other work of fiction just because they were 'underrepresented' in the past won't do any good to neither the shows nor pheasants themselves, as getting a granted role just because you are a certain species of bird won't give them much popularity.
Imagine a world where some rarer animals gets to be 'more represented': a very well designed dog or cat character would be refused a part in a comic and be replaced by bland and boring pheasant character just because some statistics has to match. This is not just. Not everyone should get equally. Some animals just deserve the roles more.
Having said that, I don't have anything against pheasants in general, God forbid. I wouldn't mind seeing more pheasants in comics and cartoons, but only if they fit in the presented worlds, are well written and entertaining, not because someone wants to make up for their past.
