Another thing that occurred to me right now with the recent past issue.

Riptide is part of the mutiny, I can't help but think this has something to do with Megatron failing him in class when he was teaching earlier on in the episode.

I'm really wondering if Perceptor is in with the mutineers. I mean, he obviously is, since he's not in the Rodpod, but still, I can't imagine him selling the crew out like that. Nor can I say the same about guys like Bluestreak, Mainframe, Blaster, and so on.

I get the feeling that any time anyone raises an objection to Getaway's plan he nudge guns them and makes them forget everything they mentioned. Getaway needs to be lynched and Megatron needs to do it.

Thunderclash is notably absent from the main page reveal of the Getaway Gang.
Because he was in the earlier parts of the issue, logical storytelling dictates we are supposed to notice his absence from either Team Rod or the GG.
It would therefore read to anyone not an idiot that *one* possibility is he is going to re-enter the narrative on the ship in some fashion

I'm still kind of hoping tht Deathsaurus and crew turn on Tarn.

Deathsaurus loves his crew, he mentioned that the DJD was responsible for murdering some of them in the past.

I could see the alliance being Deathsaurus trying not to get himself or any of his men killed until he can find a way to kill the DJD.

and then the Victory Squad join the Lost Light. The pro-Megatron faction gets a boost, and that puts Getaway's faction in their place

I actually like the idea. I mean, it's not handled very well in the comics because Megatron crosses far too many lines to be realistically redeemable, but he's written to be very human, which gives him some much needed depth.

I suspect this fight goes on too long, and megs fools energon wears off, and he just starts tearing apart decepticons. Eventually he beats tarn, and takes their ship. The videos are taken by megs (the familiar shadow red alert mentioned) having taken up his weapon again, and this all leads to megs trying to find the knights for his own reasons as he slowly becomes more violent.

Regarding that group shot showing various LL crew members who supported Getaway in this plan, at first I thought it was just a way of illustrating what Getaway was saying through the comm, but the way the story reads, it seems clear they were present during the entire conversation.

Feels kind of wrong that guys like Riptide and Bluestreak were there. Of all 'bots, they witnessed firsthand what happens when you try and cut a deal with the DJD. There is always the possibility nobody but Getaway and a few others know exactly what did he plan for Megatron and the rest, but that makes them dangerously stupid.

Fuck, now I remember the entire Brainstorm's trial which contents were suppossedly common knowledge between crew members. So it's not just Bluestreak and Riptide who should be painfully aware how does DJD operate in such circumstances.

Really liked this issue, but the story consequences from this can't be just waved away with a bullshit excuse like uh they were just parallel reality brainwashed Autobots who overcame it through the power of gay robot love. So I'm waiting what's next.

Mainframe was in on it and still kinda had concern for Velocity when they were leaving. So there's still a chance they mutiny crew might had planned to come back with some cavalry to wholesale slaughter all the decepticons and pick up survivors.

Well, there was the entire Unicron trilogy, and the movies, but we don't speak about them.

But in all seriousness, to me MTMTE was always Community in Space. It had serious, real emotional moments, but with a heavy blanket of jokes and pop culture. But to me, that is different from having the entire ship betray these people and sending them off to their death. So I felt shock, and I'm emotionally invested, and no, as much as I enjoy Transformers, that genuinely doesn't happen very often. Quite possibly, yes, the Agenda was the last time I was that shocked.

Given IDW Megs intense fear of mnemosurgeons potentially changing his mind for him that's possible. If he shows signs of a huge mental change that might mean he's been compromised he's fair game. I don't know, but it's possible he'd view it as a contingency against his enemies using him while also putting him out of his misery.

Windblade and Combiner wars wasn't that great either;

MTMTE is usually good, but lately there've been a few bumps
RiD is consistent in its quality, a little slow at the start

Windblade is average, nice art;
it's the main character I don't like;
as flat as a crepe

the prequels:
Autocracy and Monstrosity were bad,
I didn't even want to look at Primacy
LSOTW was great, it gave us Overlord
Chaos Theory was okay, I didn't really feel it connect with the story all that much

and then there's Drift, okay-ish, same rank as Windblade
EoS wasn't that good either, they could have taken the whole thing and put it into one issue instead of stretching it

Why would Thunderclash know if everyone just assumes Rodimus had a accident with the teleporter? If they go back to get them , Getaway gets to excuse the whole thing as a ploy to get a jump on the decepticon army after them just because Megatron was on board.

Getaway already made his "greater good" speech, he only cares about getting rid of Megatron and getting a better captain in charge (like Tunderclash). I don't think he cares if he gets caught afterwards.

Both ways. Trailbreaker, Tailgate, and Swerve got toys because their characters were already getting decent exposure.

Characters that got forced were Crosscut, Windblade, Chromia, Defensor, Optimus Maximus, etc...

The major issue here is, that unlike most of thos other times, a ton of those characters just aren't available for it.

Thinking about it, the characters they have so for a that are also getting toys in TR are Optimus (who may get a new body and partner), Skullcruncher, Soundwave, Galvatron (but I doubt it), Mindwipe, and I think that's it? The could bring a few more from Cybertron like Blurr, and Wheelie, but other than that they don't have much to work with.

I think you can intrerpret the lines about conjunxes being rare to mean that very few people find an absolute "permanent" partner. These are a species with no sexual reproduction or family unit stemming from that - the one and only reason to have relationships is for romance itself. Not everyone is going to be into that, and fewer still would have relationships that could last the insanely long times Transformers can live. Plus, with the war on, any sort of "leisure" activity like romance certainly gets put on the back burner.

What gets me is the scene with Pipes here. Roberts seem to be pushing the line towards bots having physical attraction, which opens up the can of worms of them having "physical relationships".

They have eyes. They have ears, well, audio receptors. Point is they experience each other with their senses the same as humans do, so they are capable of appreciating the kinds of aspects in those around them that we might. How you look, how you sound, even how you smell (probably one of their weirder senses, to be honest, but most continuities acknowledge it), Otherwise it's all cerebral, and I see no real reason why it would be for them. Yes, even when they can change alt or kibble. Humans can change their outfits, change their hair, wear jewelry and so on and people find it appealing or offputting.

How can 12 characters hope to fend off a group of more than 200 Cons, when last time 5 Cons destroyed their 200?

Two potential factors. One is we don't know that Blaster is aware that the DJD was called in. It's possible even if they did they think the DJD will just target Megatron. For what it's worth they were supposedly going to leave them alone when they came for Overlord but seeing Drift caused the "incident."

The second factor is that while they selected crew who have no interest in helping Megatron or who would lift a finger in a coup (again, due to Megatron) they nudge gun may not be all they used. They use a LOT of mind control weapons in MTMTE, so controlling the crew to do what he wants, and then not struggling subconsciously because they want Megatron dead, wouldn't be out of the question. It would, however, probably be a copout. Roberts uses a lot of little gimmicks like that.

Actually we don't know that. We only see Getaway on the screen. There is a cutaway where we see Getaway mention "Everyone" but he's not standing in front of them this entire time. In fact they're just sort of standing oddly at attention. Kind of weird.

Getaway also explicitly tell what is about to happen, just that one of them will probably get hurt. This does NOT mean that they all knew about it. They could be learning it now, and for all we know Getaway is being shouted at about what it meant about others getting hurt. Getaway never once said he actually called in the Cons.

More current arc thoughts
We have 7 issues (am I stretching this out or was it mentioned to be 8 issues prior?) for this story to get through, and we should assume the entire thing is not a DJD slugfest. So...

>Megatron vs Tarn is actually a 3-panel scene in the third issue. Majority of the issue is a Tarn speech followed by Megatron attempting to demoralize him and the DJD. Beat-down follows suite but not before the LL gets blown up by Tarn, just to prove a point.
>Fourth issue is the strike-back. A team led by Thunderclash (with Defensor!) lands on the planet, the mutiny against the mutiny. Together they begin to turn the tides. Megatron is in pieces, but helping to command. In the end Tarn is revealed to be Roller, Agent 113 is outed, and the group head to Deathsaurus's warworld to begin the quest anew.

The second part would be a new adventure that highlights the bot/con group working together.

Chromia made sense. She was only there to protect Windblade. Everyone else was lower than a secondary concern for her. We don't think of them as different, they're all giant robots, but to her Cybertronians were aliens, dangerous aliens. Their deaths became a means to her end to convince Windblade to abandon the planet before it got her killed.

Ironhide of all bots knows the shifty shit they've all done for what they perceived as "the greater good." After everything he'd seen and one he was the last person who wanted to sit in judgement of anyone else. Windblade may seem strange but I liked her protecting her friend. It was one of the earliest indications of the kind of moral compromising she'd have to do now that she was engaged with Cybertron - and it's only gotten worse from there.

This seems like the kind of thing that will happen eventually when Roberts decides to conclude the Dominus Ambus storyline. They all end up running into each other. Awkwardness ensues. Bonus points if Overlord is still with this Rewind.

Based on what she'd seen I don't think she believes there ARE any civilians on Cybertron. You know Ultra Magnus' Guilt-o-Vision? She seems to have the same thing only it classifies everyone on that planet as a threat. Sitting in a bar enjoying a drink or not.

Why didn't anyone of the mutiny squad simply put a gun to Megatron's head and offed him? I'm talking about Getaway and Atomizer specifically since they're sneaky shits who should have been able to pull that off, but really, anyone had an opportunity. Sure, Optimus Prime would throw a shitfit, but anyone who killed Megatron will be venerated as a martyr.

It's not really a storytelling flaw, more like it makes them fucking cowards. Impactor knew what to do when high command tells you to release some shitbags, and selling out your friends so someobdy can do the deed for you wasn't it.

Sure, he has ample plot armor, but if the Wreckers found a way to bring Overlord down, then a smartass like Getaway should at least look for a viable way to off Megatron without all these shenanigans inevitably resulting in more innocent Autobots dying.
