You seem to forget the Academt will blindly vote for the Pixar or Disney film regardless of quality.
Just look at last year: at least three nominees (and a fourth film not nominated) were more deserving than Big Hero 6, but it's a Disney film so it won.
Fantastic Mr. Fox probably would have lost to Brave, Frozen, or Big Hero 6 for crying out loud. Not because of quality, but because of brand name.
As long as there is a Pixar or Disney film nominated one of them will win. It's the sad truth.
