>>79961761Hook isn't the only one. I'm not sure if caring about RT is a recent thing, like from the last five years, or if people only care about it in regard to cape movies, due to consolewarring. Beyond cape movies, people don't seem to keep track of or even be aware of scores at all, and critics have always had a hateboner for even insanely popular action, horror, and comedy stuff, like Austin Powers, by default.
>>79961316I feel like the DC movies could improve their reception by lightening up the tone, adding quips, and adopting a jokey atmosphere. But while this would appeal to a mainstream audience and to normies, who can't take superheroes seriously in the first place, instead of to comic fans, like myself, the result would be a movie that I couldn't care less about.
It's like some soulless, Hollywood suit cutting up and butchering a book adaptation or 4kids tier anime dub, and then telling me that this what I should want because, "they improved its appeal." I don't care about how much money the suit makes by ruining everything. I want something I can actually enjoy.
