And saying "keep money for later to work on your opus" doesn't mater when its your opus that they want to change.
And yes, like any form of art, animation is a business, that doesn't mean you have t alway bend over to the will of the exec, especially if they present to you a bad deal. if you are proposed a bad deal, it's actually a good business move to refuse that deal. as well as looking as other means to make money out of your art. Youtube is effectively becoming more and more a way to make profit, if you have the skill and guts to work on your own.
Looking to be self-made man is certainly not a bad business move, if you have the right tools at disposition and the right ideas...
Then again, it all fell apart if your idea are shit and you are just full of yourself, but it's not always the case.
