>>79770470Because you're specifically looking for things that are masculine. It's simple confirmation bias. Of course there are many transwomen that don't pass, it's a sad fact. But anything posted here will be torn apart because you're laser-focused. Meanwhile, if you just saw them walking down the street you probably wouldn't notice. Actual women can have some pretty masculine features. The real problem passing is the voice.

>>79770844The jury isn't all that "out" on this, to be completely honest. That idea always comes from the citing of the same mis-used Swedish study.
http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0016885However, this is a willful misinterpretation of data for two reasons: Firstly, because suicide rates still lower, even within the context of this observation, just not to general population levels. Secondly, because the study itself admits that it is an anomaly and shouldn't be used as an argument against transition.
Additionally, for the people in the study who transitioned later - When society became more accepting - The suicide rates level out even more.
There is a pretty decent body of study on whether or not SRS is effective on treating gender dysphoria.
http://www.cakeworld.info/transsexualism/what-helps/srs There are over seventy on that page, showing everything from trans people becoming more productive, to more social, to more physically and mentally sound. Suicide rates plummet. Contrary to the sentiment of "there's no science behind chopping peoples dicks off, the medical community is failing them!" this is something that has been researched literally to death and found mainstream acceptance as the most effective treatment.
There's always talk about regretting surgery too and while I do not personally tout it as being a perfect or even good thing as we are just not far along enough to do a proper job of it...
