>>79559241Hm, I don't have the creative talents that some anons have for making their storytimes so enjoyable to read. The two most recent events that happened weren't all that great, but rather just more affirmation of how a shitty community really does limit the potential fun a game both in and out.
Like I remember one time
>In college>I am in the computer lab working on homework>This computer lab always have people playing LoL in it>Some dude is playing LoL by himself>Suddenly his two friends come in>They see him and walk up to him>They start talking and notice he is playing LoL>They start watching as they talk, making comments on his play style>They start talking the same way people in the game do>"O fuck man, you fucking suck">"OO REKT!">"O THAT WAS SO EASY I COULD OF DONE THAT!">"God damn just uninstall the fucking game dude">It's really obnoxious and ruining the quiet atmosphere>As they say this, I can see the guys face>His smile from seeing his friends is fading>They are acting the same shit like their online personas do, to their real life friend>The match ends with them screaming some more toxic shit>Ask him if he wants to go to lunch>His voice his pretty low and he just mumbles something along the lines of:>"Nah, I'm ok. Thanks...">The other two walk off while the guy sort of just sulks into the chairI mean I get this is how people act in-game, but at least you can mute the shit. And of course, I'm sure he got over it because they were ultimately "joking", but it wasn't funny and in the moment it just makes you angry. If they were just cool and not acting out like edgy 12 year olds, I bet when they invited him, he would of been down.
And there was another one showcasing not the toxic attitude, but the lack of understanding of social convention. Which, now that I think about it, if you can't really tell how to act in person, chances are higher that you will be the person who says stuff like in the story above.
