>Jack and The Devil
It takes place in Modern times. Jack is a stingy and sleazy man who's cheating on his wife, he dies in a car accident on his way to his secret girlfriend and meets the Devil. Jack, because of how sly he is manages to convince the Devil to let him go. Being pissed about being tricked by him, The Devil (voiced by Dylan Saunders) puts a curse on Jack that puts ten black stripes on his left arm, each representing a sin he's committed, Jack has but two weeks to right his wrongs or else he'll go straight back to hell with no chance of getting out. Jack basically starts off as a unlikable prick but gets better as he starts to see how much of a dick he was.
It's a musical as you would expect and the soundtrack has a southern tone to it with lots of fiddles and guitars.
>Jonah and The Whale
A meek fisherman & chef who's looked down by everyone for never being able to catch a single fish meets a Whalemaid after fishing one day, The Whalemaid and the boy become friends and make a deal with each other. The fisherman will help the Whalemaid gain enough weight to survive the upcoming winter and in return the Whalemaid supplies him with impressive fish so the people of his harbor will be impressed and like him. But then, an evil pirate captain who's been hunting the Whalemaids for their valuable fatty meat for years threatens her existence and their friendship.
The fisherman/chef doesn't get inside the Whalemaid until the climax where she saves him from cannon fire or whatever by swallowing him. Nothing like the source material but that might be for the best.
Sit there and tell me these honestly wouldn't work perfectly.
