Ahsoka needed to confront Vader.

Bail leads the rebellion so he and Leia were bound to show up.

Lando was great. Vader showing up was almost a certainty.

The only one that didn't deserve to be in the show was R2 and 3po.

I'm iffy about Ypda, but I'll let it play out before I criticize it.

We don't know anything about these guys. They could be:

Or dozens and dozens and dozens of other possibilities. These guys are almost certainly doomed to die, so not really sure why you're freaking out. The EU did the same thing, usually with Vader curb stomping them. That may even happen here, we just don't know yet.

I think his agitation with it is a little exaggerated, but he's right. Yoda in particular seems out-of-place and fairly contrived, as does Maul's hilarious survival and Ahsoka in general (though she's been around for awhile now and that can't be helped; I just hope her confrontation with Vader isn't stupid).

But this is what happens when you have an unnecessary prequel cartoon. Much like with TCW, you'll end up with a lot of stuff that feels forced or awkward in the greater narrative for the sake of recognition or fanservice or something interesting. Does that make for high-quality storytelling? Usually not. But that's neither here nor there, and it's a little late now. It's not as if we really needed VII or even the prequels for that matter either, yet here we are. Most anyone can do is try to enjoy them for what they are.

Do you think Bail, Mothma and Ackbar just woke up one day and decided "Rebel Alliance here we go" with no preparation for it? They had to work quietly under the radar with their own cells, at first, which don't get very far for sticking it to the Empire. Hera's entire character is about starting a cell and bringing others together because more heads are better than just a few. Ghost crew is on it's own as a cell until they find Bail one day and ally with him for support.
I bet you will cry if we see Ackbar or Mothma at some point in Rebels, because how dare they show up and attempt cohesion in rebel cells?

All of them learned too much and became rivals to his strength. The Inquisitors have their knowledge controlled and curtailed by Vader and Sheev, they are barely trained and only know the basics of Force powers.

Inquisitors are like Paramedics, while Sith, like Vader and Palpatine, are fully trained doctors that went through years of medical school, there is a huge difference between them and their skill level.

You're not listening. Bane is still canon (though not the books or comics) because George Lucas created him. Revan is not. Revan was going to be in TCW BEFORE they wiped canon so Lucas was ok with it, but now that he and KotOR are not canon he wouldn't appear in Rebels like Bane could. This isn't that difficult to understand.

Bane is still canon because he was finally used in TCWs. Things Lucas thought up (fortunately) don't always wind up in canon. He's infamous for changing his mind. Rather like how Bane's appearance changed for his final appearance although his original aborted appearance in the Mortis Arc looked closer to the EU version. Things like Bane's lightsaber pike are not firmly established as canon as they only made it into the concept art. They were approved, but didn't actually make an appearance.

You'd be better off pointing out that even if Filoni manages to insert Revan into canon that wouldn't automatically validate KOTOR or TOR, it would only mean that Revan existed. Only what they actually put into the episode about him would be canon. Everything else would still be legends unless directly referenced.

The minute they go "Here's Darth Revan" all anyone clamoring for that character to return will hear is "KotOR games are 100% canon" and there will be nothing Lucasfilm can do to get them to listen if they were to say the character is completely different or the events if the game didn't happen. It doesn't work. More than anything, Revan was a cipher for the player to experience the game, not an actual character and therefore he can never return. They are better off just making up some new characters.

Taking and reusing a ship design is nowhere even remotely close to reintroducing a character. The ships just look neat and are a nice nod to the past for fans, nothing more. Adding a character named Darth Revan literally creates an expectation and the fans will not hear anything different. Also, as I said, Revan was a cipher. His character was whatever you wanted him to be while playing based on your choices. There is no way to bring him back, it does not work.

Apart from the design skip between eps VI and VII, what are you referring to? The ISDs changed size but the shapes remained the same; the Rebel fleet was a hodgepodge of crap. Fighter designs changed wildly for the Rebels but not so much the Empire.

There's a funny part in the Blu-ray commentary on Episode II where two VFX guys are talking about an error in the background matte during the scene where Anakin tells Padme he has to go back to Tatooine - one of them says something along the lines of "We kept that to ourselves, but I guess we can tell you now since he can't make us go back and change it," just for the other guy to reply "That's what you think," and they share a laugh.

He's a great sound editor, but as a film editor he's always been kind of meh.

Also Burtt would always try to push sound effects over music. He's the reason the asteroid battle in AOTC has no music at all until the very end, he wanted the sound effects to do the work. It works at the beginning, when you have the seismic charges, but after that the lack of music starts to drag the scene down.

KOTOR had a place in lore and logical Ship designs since all of their ships were designed and built by Republic Manufacturers, (Kuat DY, Corellian, MC and so on) but TOR fucked it up with the Sith ships, since they looked exactly like Kuat designs while being designed by an Isolated Empire's shipyard.

Despite being complete shit in a lot of ways, the Prequel Trilogy still added a lot of consistency to the Ship history of Star Wars, with explaining that the Wedge Shape is a Kuat Drive Yard due to maximal forward facing firepower, it's a useful design, and makes sense if one manufacturer specialized on that design, hell even in the EU Kuat was building ships for the new republic following their base ship designs.

that's consistency in a universe, however, Bioware fucked that up with shoehorning the Harrower class in, which defies any consistency.

which also leaves the question why the fuck Kuat would build ships for the First Order in TFA, but I guess nothing matters anymore in TFA canon, it's all over the fucking place.

I don't get why people are upset about the Temple Guards.

1) There's plenty of Temples, even ones secret or lesser known, like the one on Lothal. The Temple Guards would be very highly trained, and no doubt likely to survive the initial purge

2) The Temple Guards we see in the trailer may not all be Guards, but perhaps a bunch of Jedi who have simply taken up the mantle for whatever the fuck spiritual reason.

3) My own personal prediction; They're just part of the vision. I suspect Ezra talking to Yoda and Maul are also visions and won't have any impact outside of the 1-2 episodes set in the Sith Temple. Meanwhile Kanan will talk to the Guardians, and Ahsoka faces a vision of Vader.

It's all gonna' be vision shit, thats my prediction.

The entire trailer gave off ethereal vibes.

My bonus prediction, one that I definitely didn't come up with by myself, but I think what we speculated on a few threads back about the connection to the Inquisitor, may come into play.

How about they make characters that people care about, instead of shoehorning TCW/OT characters for an episode, use the quirk the character has and then call it a day?

You have new characters, use them. At this point Rebels has become The Clone Wars/OT show with some Rebels cast dispersed in-between. We have Commander Sato, who the hell is he? What's he fighting for? We don't know who he is, even though he's a Rebel Cell Commander. We have A-wing pilots that have some unique designs, but they have gone nowhere and we have no idea who they are as well. You mean to tell me Filoni and the other writers can't make some episodes that revolve around a rag tag team of rebel pilots? I highly doubt that.

We only have Konstantine, Titus, Kallus for the Imperial cast, what are they up to? What motivations do we have for them? I think Yogar is still alive after the Tarkening.

Yeah and that. Aresko, Grint ,Inquisitor and Tua were killed even though old scripts for them had them live. We could have gotten some stories out of them before they bit the dust later on, but no, let's just kill a handful of characters so a couple OT characters look all badass.

Rebels had a plethora of characters, but instead of using them and seeing the world through their eyes the creators have shelved them for TCW/OT characters, characters we already know about with the books, comics and other media released for them.

Forgive some people for wanting to see some new characters in a NEW show, but that's how some of them feel.

New characters are good only if they get development, otherwise give me the people I already care about. This was one of the problems with the PT, they add new people like Maul and and Qui Gon while doing little to make us care about them and giving us very little new information about characters we already love like Yoda.

HH is shit true but that isn't the point I'm making, those novels illuminate a specific event in the setting's history that concern those characters. They don't introduce new characters who run into 'important' characters out of nowhere on a consistent basis in a really forced manner. It's like if they had an Imperial Guard novel where out of nowhere they run into Grimaldus or somebody else of significance just to make the story suddenly seem "important".

The only way it can apply is that if the Padawans don't flash their lightsabers out in public every chance they get as if they were in SWG. They can live their private lives in the Force, helping folks every now and then and outrunning the Empire in the event they do get found out, but they really can't go rebuilding the Order or anything like that. Or if they tried I'd at least expect them to get hunted down like dogs for it.

No scans exist of any of them. They were only physical releases, and no one has the will to unbind them and scan them, or a scanner big enough to do it.

There's a high quality scan of TFA Visual Dictionary but its missing a few pages. Kileko is gonna try and get HQ pictures of the missing pages and merge them with the scan.

What would you be using to take pictures? If you use a phone, get one of those scanner apps that automatically selects pages so that way you don't have to crop the images too much.
