Her limbs weak, she slid off her desk chair and collapsed with her torso on the bed. The feeling intensified and her limbs began jerking randomly. Or at least they felt as though they did.
She couldn't think much about anything right now.
Her limbs stopped moving and she fell still.
And immediately acted as a burst of adrenaline flooded her system.
Her fingers tore at the noose, pulling the tight knot wider, gasping as the pressure eased and her windpipe and blood vessels could flow again.
She lay slumped there for a few moments, feeling returning to her arms and legs.
Then she sobbed, horror creeping up her throat as she realized what had just happened.
"What am I doing?" she croaked, shifting backwards to sit up.
"What just happened?!" she sobbed, as quietly as she was able, for fear of calling attention to herself. She wrenched the belt off her head and threw it across the room, then buried her head in her duvet and cried.
She could barely summon the tears from her shock.
She continued to lie there, her mind still reeling, until her phone played a message alert. Maybe Hope had responded? Even on a weekend she was always an early riser...
She opened the text and began to read:
"Alright, look, I get that your cheerleading is important to you, but I just can't deal with this right now. It was my parents' anniversary last night, and you can bet I didn't get any sleep last night. You're worrying about school? So is everyone. At least you get enough peace to study at home. I have it worse than you right now, so can you try and be more considerate, please? I feel like anything else will give me a mental breakdown."
...
Well, her friend was going through a rough time. Sabrina got that.
Maybe she would try and be more considerate.
She would just keep this all to herself.
She didn't want to be a bother.
