>>77622112I was actually really compelled to binge watch... up until the quarter or so of the show. Not that I didn't want to watch it, but the same relentless drive wasn't there. Kilgrave gets captured and escapes one too many times, I feel. The whole thing with the support group felt really contrived, and fuck that twin sister. Malcolm turned out great, I felt bad about Rubin, even, but she was just an annoying cunt. I know that was her character, but her comic relief was grating.
It felt a bit too scattershot at times. Like, the stuff with the divorce and Simpson/Nuke eventually got tied in, thankfully, but for a while it'd seem like a total distraction.
On the other hand, I thought Ritter was great
I still want Jessie's girl and Tennant stole every fucking scene he was in. I was skeptical going in, but he sold me. The scene in the police station alone was fucking great.
I wish we got more "Jessica tries to direct Kilgrave to good" really. That alone seems like a premise to an entire series.
Also, the fight scenes were a real step down from Daredevil. It's super strength and not ninjas, yeah, but there's just too much picking up and throwing guys over and over and over.
I'd probably put my rating with yours, or maybe a 7/10. Still really good, and I'm real hopeful for Luke Cage.
