>>77440214Something meant to make a point about how supermans new POV has affected those who looked up to him.
But the one who wrote it hasn't ever lost someone close, immediate-family-close, so he/she writes it as though Superman is a dick for having his entire world view being destroyed in a gruesome way. Which is almost offensive to me.
>oh boo hoo someone who meant more to you than words can describe died horribly, that's no excuse to change drastically as a personNow if the writer focused on the violent end of his change, this would be less stupid, that isn't acceptable behavior. But he just focuses on "superman doesn't act the same, he's distant from people now". I get why that's relevant, this is Superman, but becoming distant tends to happen after a terrible loss. No one else can really fathom it, or they wisely don't want to experience it even in imagination, so you don't want to talk to people nearly as much for a long time, for me it was a couple months. He meant well, it wasn't dead on arrival, but there's terrible perspective on the change itself. The kid doesn't even touch on the reason superman changed, his home got nuked because the joker slipped him an LSD Mickie Finn and tricked him into killing his wife and unborn child. That's kind of important.
