They're young kids, half of it is petty things like being jelous of what the other has, the other half is because they think they have to like how young boys think they're supposed to hate girls because of cooties. A good question. Starting with a statement; I want this shitty indoctrination meme to die. I believe it arose out of sheer coincidence rather than nefarious plans, meaning that the usual bickering between boys and girls which had existed PRIOR to the Net and the 90s and was devoid of deeper meaning was badly translated to the cartoon media and general culture. I feel that the normal bickering thing was a thing in the old days of (roughly put) our grandparents when they were kids, and future generations inherited its outer form ("They hate each other!"/"Girls are gross!"/"Boys are disgusting!" etc.) but took it seriously or did not understand it.

After decades of this shitty meme we ended up with boys and men who know fuck all about how to interact with women and girls who grew up to all kinds of fucked up.

Thankfully there's some positive things too. Star Butterfly and Marco, Mabel and Dipper, ATLA girls and probably a few more. I think the meme should die, and my guess is lots of people figured out how shitty and harmful it is.
