...Peter throws Zodiac his own personal device with all his company's secrets on it because he doesn't want to tip off his secret identity even though Peter has ducked out of social occasions countless times before to change into Spider-Man and this time he even has a decoy Spider-Man in the form of Hobie for plausible deniability...
...and then Peter and Hobie break into Pisces's lair to take the device back before the data can be decrypted, only Zodiac uploads the data to all of its bases which, ha ha, was the plan along so SHIELD and Peter could trace the locations...
...only the data is still in Zodiac's hands and Peter vows to stop Zodiac before they can decrypt it...
...only now we see Peter showboating for the New York City media and blowing off SHIELD in favor of rough housing with his friend over a really, really stupid misunderstanding that Peter encouraged by slamming the Baxter Building and not starting the tour with the FF statue but holding it to the end...
...and SHIELD, which knows Zodiac has the data, continues to use Parker tech and doesn't have a back up system in place in case the data is indeed decrypted...
...and Peter goes off to have drinks and talk over old times with friends instead of racing to stop the decryption of the data, even though he was happy to blow off his investors to chase the data...
So far, the only characters in this book demonstrating any intelligence or strategic thinking are the Zodiac members. I want Peter to lose for being a smug asshole with terrible priorities.
