>>127922671>Sorry it's not your typical MCU world being destroyed by CGI but that is personal stakes that literally hits close to home.>that is personal stakes that literally hits close to home. And that's part of the reason why this shit is tanking in theaters. No one with actual money to spend wants to go see a film like that in today's climate, they want a form of escapism that lets them forget how shitty
>>127923972>already made back its budget>That'sNotHowItWorksYouLittleShit.jpgAs
>>127921408 mentioned it had a $400 Million break-even point and it failed to reach that mark.
>B-but Disney+Nobody's fucking buying a D+ subscription for ONE Disney film, they're buying it for the exclusive programming.

>>127924106Not him but a general rule of thumb for films is that a film's full budget (cost of making the film and the cost of making advertisements, tie-ins, merchandise, and other forms of promotion) is twice that of its reported budget, with COVID running rampant it's generally believed that the amount put into advertising is now half of what it used to be.
Encanto had a budget of $120–150 million, add in an advertising budget of $70-75 million and you get a full budget of $190-225 million, after factoring in theater cuts and other things that cut into a film's box office numbers the film needed to make AT LEAST $380-$450 million to break even in good times. With COVID still being a factor it's safe to say that
>>127921408 has a point in regards to Disney hoping that the film would make at least $400 million.
