A big earthquake destroyed a shitload of source tapes (again, not sure if analog or digital) for animu. In the West, digital /ca/rtoons were all preserved on hard drives (or special DVD copies).
What I was referring to is the stubborness of the american (and to some extent european) industry to release HD produced TV cartoons on Blu-Ray. WHY WOULD I PAY FOR A 480 VERSION OF A SHOW THAT WAS RENDERED IN 1080P????? At least Over the Garden Wall got a BD, that's nice.
I bought GS season 1 DVD years ago, but as of recent got all 3 seasons in 1080 thanks to a helpful /co/mrade. I am not giving anyone money for that show ever again, unless someone releases a BD. The industry is not a charity, you no make product I want, I no pay dollar.
