>>127101021its a team based game thats decided on split second decisions and follow ups. you have to concentrate a lot for a long time. if you do well or just well enough to keep up for 30minutes and then lose because 1 guy made a bad decision its easy to get pissed. its also a great excuse, its always the others that make you lose.
i would not call the game hard, i wouldnt call it easy either.
mobas are a combination of strategy, bullet hell and action game, so some people think its the masterclass videogame
its not. top level play is really impressive, but the bulk of the community will never reach this, not even remotely, but a large chunk of the "middling" tier players have delusions of grandure and want to be big streamer man or go into e-sports. of all the people i know that tried to go professional as gamers wanted to do so in lol, none were really remarkable. its a mix of marketing and its popularity i guess. i already sound like a pompus faggot so i might as well throw this in: its popular, so it draws in genuine mouthbreathers.
another huge thing are skins and the sunken cost fallacy, i´m sure thats a large factor. game is fucking old, people that played it for a long time have payed ungodly summs of money for skins, i guarantee you that most of them did. so they convince themselves over and over that they have to keep playing so the large sum of money they spent on digital costumes wasnt completely wasted. if you condition yourself to do something you dont really enjoy anymore because you "have to" people tend to become really nasty if they have a bad time. could be a loss, could be a teammate playing a build/hero they dislike. people fucking explode in this game about the most minor shit.
i didn´t play for 7 years or so. played with some old friends 1 year ago for 2 games. the only thing that was really remarkable was how truly miserable all of them were.
arcane is a really neat show though
