My parents didnt want me watching most of CN as a kid. I actually cant remember a specific reason but probably it was because it was crass and vulgar. They wanted to raise me smart so they wanted Nat Geo or discovery for me. Only allowed nick and disney.

Funny thing is, my dad bought me kid meal toys featuring cn characters. Even bought me courage the cowardly dog vcds and tom and jerry

i was banned from "ed, edd and eddy", "chowder" and up until I was 11 "pokemon" and that was because my grandma and mother we're convinced it was satanic at first. I've talked to my mother about this once and she said she wasn't allowed to watch smurfs because satan and shit but she was allowed to get the toys?

Interestingly, nobody cared about the Ghostbusters. I still haven't understood that logic to this day.

None cuz they were pretty relaxed for the TV media, If anything they were quite critical and always said that those cartoons were too weird or dumb but never forbidden them.
They act like they have no clue what was I watching.

They were totally cool with the adult films (not pornografic), as long as we watch them together. I remember watching in family nights movies with policial or violent themes and even nudes, but they were cool cuz they said that movie were fictional and/or artistic and I should use my own criteria to watch them.

Strangely enough, we owned Mortal Kombat 2 on the SNES, I watched the Mortal Kombat Kartoon on USA, played it in the arcades, it was just the movie that she had a problem with.

Sounds like my friend who 'wasn't allowed to watch spongebob' years later it turns out the parents never even made that rule, and just told them to turn it off once cause they thought it was annoying.
