But the comics are almost always no good. Tie-ins, events, variant covers, etc. are shit gimmicks, when they should just hire and pamper talent to make new and good comics.
Popular battleshounen is more or less tried and true formulas and structures with different color palettes.
It's surprising to me that people still fall for the same shit, are happy to wade in that shit, when there are so many alternatives.
People flock to manga now because it provides that instant gratification that capeshit failed to deliver. But it's all stupid shit in the end. Luckily, good comics and manga exist. Unfortunately, most people don't read them.
Then there the people actively trying to keep it all down, keep people reading their horseshit superhero garbage, and everything outside of that is "pretentious". Sometimes it is, but often it is merely an earnest effort that refrains from using spandex-clad faggots.
Capeshit is autoimmune disease, while battleshounen is more like a slightly harmful drug.
I would like to discuss both comics and manga, but nobody here seems to know both sides, or even their preferred side, very well.
