I did start reading Wasteland, Ostrander and Del Close(I know weird af right?)’s DC horror anthology from the late 80s. Part of that stuff that’s the best DC era. It rules so far.

Currently I've seen people upset of a crop of Rene Montoya and Helena B kissing from the Lois Lane book.
No one has pointed out that it is from a spread of various characters across alternate earths, meaning that they are a couple on one earth out in the multiverse.

Part of the problem is the last 10, 20? years have seen narratives collapse into a level of fan service that there are a lot of properties that don't bother commuting to an internally consistent universe because the audience will support it on flimsy fourth wall breaking references.
