>>125532794Unpopular opinion: In spite of everything I agree to leave Finn's life a mystery, allowing everyone to imagine the fate of the hero.
But if the series had to be given a sequel I would have used Jake's death as an advantage and not a limitation. For example it would allow to give Finn different partner in each adventure; one week he accompanies Bronwyn on her spring break from college, another weekend helps Simon in his search for a relic that can help Betty, then he has a depressive period and isolates himself along with BMO and T.V. playing video games, subsisting on pizza and beer, weeks later Canyon punches him some sense (Literally) and puts him on an exercise regimen, at the end of the season he is accused of a crime and to wash his name he has to resort to the services of Me-Mow and Bandit Princess.
And not only take advantage of having different co-stars every week, they could finally play with the dynamics of the duo, in some cases Finn will take the role of mentor, others of disciple, sometimes there will be a romantic interest or even sexual tension involved, It could also be a case of antagonism, in short the possibilities are there, but I think the staff wants to make their own stuff and the way to achieve it (According to them) is by starting fresh with a "new" character.
Now as much as I think about it, why use Fionna? Why not start fresh with a character like Y5 or Cadebra? Characters that are not limited to following a continuity or established events, with Fionna regardless of what they want to try will always remain in Finn's shadow.
