>Why don't you just buy digital?I do, and others like you and me do, but i was talking the broad spectrum of the comics industry and its sales troubles. Nobody knows about digital, and the digital platforms that are available have dogshit pricing because of bullshit LCS-based Diamond-backed industry standards, thus its kneecapped. Ideally, Comixology should be a full on subscription service. One fee, you get all the shit. Or, alternatively, publisher-based subscriptions, pay a fee, get a publishers back catalog, and then Comixology Unlimited on top for everything that isnt under the umbrella of the top like 10 companies.
The other digital services may as well not exist because they're either publisher-centric or so obscure it might as well be a script kiddies DIY passion project.

>So just buy shit that's on sale, which change every weekThe problem, dumbass, is you have to WANT TO BU WHATS ON SALE.
You cant rely on that as a crutch for an entire wing of a whole fucking industries method of distribution. Steam, for example, has their flash sales, weekly sales, weekend sales, publisher sales, summer sales, winter sales, etc. but all of those are backed by, outside of Triple A major publisher releases (hint hint, catching a pattern?), almost universally lower prices in general. Comics dont need to cost 4.99 when theres no physical product, they just dont.
Comics, as they are, are as if when Steam was introduced, Activision, EA, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft decided to kill it to keep Gamestop alive. Video Games are iirc the largest entertainment industry in the world, and even then Gamestop is just barely avoiding going tits up more or less 24/7. Comics are a microscopic fraction of the size, and do this shit constantly.
