To me it's interesting that so many people are obsessed with Goku vs Superman because both these characters are mid tier in their own stories, you have the Spectre, Trigon, Mxy, the Anti-Monitor, etc. in DC and Beerus, Whis, Grand Priest, etc. in DB.
And worse than that there are works of fiction that are significantly more powerful than either DB or DC.
It's a bit like Batman vs Captain America, they're not fighting for 1st place, or second place, or even 100th.
