Both side-ism everything isn't being equal, it's not objective, it's blindsided naive centrism. The republican party has become way, way worse than the democratic party in their policies, or more accurately, their lack of policies. All they care is tax cuts for the rich and fearmongering how everything is evil and against you outside of the conservative bubble, pure culture war bullshit.
Look at healthcare, they have had nearly fifteen years to come up and offer a better plan, but instead they just go "let's just kill Obamacare" without offering anything in its place. On immigration they aren't interested in anything but stupid shit like the wall that won't fix anything, and they actively make legal immigration harder for people so all the talk of "just come in legally" is bullshit. They don't offer any economic plans beyond Trickle Down Economics. We saw this during the Trump era when they gave massive tax cuts and then asked corporate heads if they were going going to do new investments and hire more people and almost everyone said fuck no we'll buy back our own stocks and prop up our stock price so that we'll get bigger bonuses that are tied to the company stock performance. They spent most of 2020 not wanting to give the working class any stimulus after rushing through massive corporate bailout and trying to give companies disregarding covid protection full immunity from prosecution. And they only started being ok with a stimulus check again after it looked like Trump might not win and they thought maybe last minute stimulus check bribing the voters would seal the deal. After sitting on their asses for six months on the matter as they controlled the senate and not touching two different stimulus bills the democratic congress had passed.
And don't get me wrong, the Dems are bad too in many ways, including being full of corporate stooges, but occasionally they at least try to help people by giving better healthcare coverage, etc.
