I get she's into mechanics but it be funny if she was a little worried to go behind the wheel for her first time. What if the practice car only had a standard length seatbelt wouldn't be well adjusted either and looked really uncomfortable while driving with the driving instructor rating her driver score from every turn. Bet she be a little anxious correct. I also actually never even seen her in a passenger seat before all fastened up in "her" adjustments. If there is such a drawing, I'd like to see it.

Well, keep pitching it and maybe someone will draw it.
Personally I know how far out a standard seatbelt goes, and it's further than you'd think.

Also, should I change the GG scripts pastebin to be a link to the wiki scripts page? I can't update the GG pastebin without it getting flagged (for what I don't know, pastebin's policy change makes me think I need to move a lot more things onto the wiki) and it's already out of date since new scripts have been written and added to the wiki page since.
I bring it up since the bin link is probably still being used somewhere by someone.

A while ago I drew a pair of characters, one being a disaffected teacher getting on in years and the other a boisterous delinquent who often find themselves at odds. However, they both have secret alter-egos, the delinquent being a new hero in a makeshift suit just discovering how to use his powers and the teacher being a notorious fire-themed villain. The plot was they encounter one another a few times in costume and soon realise one another’s secret identities, although each one has no idea the other is onto them.

So last thread we were working on this.

Panel 1:
Audrey and Sarah are taking it easy on the couch watching TV for a change. Lucia is in the background too. The TV is not facing the reader.
Narration box: A rare moment of quiet interrupted by a sudden revelation!
TV: Breaking news! Wealthy foreign recluse Daiyu Huánghòu is showcasing her collection of artifacts at the Platinum City Museum gala tonight!
AUDREY: "Golly! That's the Jade Empress!"

Panel 2:
The TV is taking up the panel, on it the Jade Empress in her human disguise is presenting artifacts to an excited museum curator
Sarah (off panel): "Very astute, it is indeed. For her to make a public appearance like this can only mean one thing... Lucia! Prepare the special wardrobes!"

Panel 3:
Audrey is at the fancy gala in a party dress that's struggling to contain her with Sarah standing nearby. Audrey is holding one of those tiny plates of food in her hands and looks concerned because if she eats this it might make her dress explode. That's the subtext it needs.
Sarah: "Look sharp, Audrey. We mustn't be distracted by the festivities."
Audrey (thinking): I'm more concerned about other things. I'm lucky Lucia found me a dress that fit!*
Narration box: *See the bonus page at the end of this comic!

Panel 4:
Audrey has pained smile with one arm across her chest and pointing with the other arm saying "I need to step out for some air."
Behind her Sarah is saying "Good thinking, Audrey. Signal me if you find something." or something to that effect.
Sarah shouldn't actually be looking at Audrey when this happens, she should have her eyes on the Jade Empress. As long as JE is in her line of sight she knows Audrey can't get into any danger she can't handle herself.

Are we continuing it?

Maybe as she's struggling to get her Golden Girl outfit on she knocks something over to crush a golem? Or a golem spots her while she's doing this and she pushes something over to pin it.
The later sounds better since Audrey isn't supposed to be an actual klutz, but I don't know which works best with the comedic timing.

That sounds like the best option.

I recall my thought last week was that she'd signal SQ, change, and then her chest would bump something over while she's sneaking up on the golems, prompting a fight until SQ shows up. The latter option could still work into that.

Does the transmitter actually send a voice like a radio or is it just like a beeping? I'm pondering this because it is the 1950s and I don't know just how small they've gotten their spy tech by then.
The 1960s are about the time I associate with small radio transceivers being cutting edge, but this could be a case of fantastic technology.
If it's two way voice communication then Sarah can tell her to stall them.

Either way, it should cut back to Sarah getting the message in her ear and seeing Jade Empress slipping away.

This feels kind of unnecessary, both because Audrey's already changed (and thus is no longer wearing the necklace) and because she's already tailing the golems on her own initiative.

Alright, so scratch that part.

So the scene is the golems are surrounding a glass case with the scepter/staff in it. Maybe a statue of Anubis is holding it.
Oh, how about this? She knocks over a banner, one of those poles with the cloth draping down off of it. The clothed falls onto the golems and she uses that as a distraction to wrap the cloth around one of them and give it a tug to knock the jade construct down using the power of leverage.

How long does she need to stall for?

The whole banner thing would need maybe two or three panels for proper setup.
She's able to pry them away from their mark and make them chase her, then Silver Queen shows up as GG is being chased. So...

Panel 9:
GG is watching the golems still, they have surrounded a glass case with a statue of Anubis holding a scepter.
GG is looking up above them at the decorative cloth draped across the ceiling.
GG (thinking): "I know how I can stop them!"

Panel 10:
The cloth banners from the ceiling have fallen down from one side across the golems and the case. GG is holding one end as motion lines show she was running around them or under their legs.

Panel 11
GG gives the cloth a tug cashing the golems to stumble or topple over. They're pretty big and heavy, so I'm not sure how effective that would be.
GG (thinking): "That buys us some time!"

Panel 12:
GG narrowly dodges a powerful jade arm slamming down where she was standing, it tore through the cloth
GG (thinking): "But not that much time!"

Too compressed? Too decompressed?

Maybe. But I still think she should bring the banner down over them and perhaps try to tie it up around them, knowing it won't stop them, but hoping it'll slow them down long enough for SQ to arrive. Makes more sense than having her run straight past them to trip them up.

Seeing Audrey the way the world around her sees her feels kind of... I don't know, wrong? Like walking around with an eye-patch on. Or that it encroaches on the kind of bits that Iris is there for.

But if you have a pitch, I'm all ears. I'm more than happy to have my mind changed.

I was thinking that it would be yes, since a big part of the premise is that different characters in universe perceive things differently due to code blindness.

Honestly? I think it would make sense to do the first Jade Empress script from Silver Queen's point of view since that's her nemesis more than GG's.
But another idea (that would probably be too ambitious) would be to do sort of a rashomon style comic where it's the same sequence of events but we get it a version from Sarah's POV and one from Audrey's that's with the filters removed.

If you just want a straight up fight between Silver Queen and Jade Empress, why not just set it before Silver Queen got a sidekick? I say this mainly because I don't want to rehash scripts when a new one can be made.

The first Jade Empress script with GG is just GG being informed about JE. That's largely so the audience knows what's going on (because it really is the first time she appears). If you want to get meta, then it's so readers of TDAoGG who didn't read TSSQ who might be seeing it for the first time know who she is.

Though saying all that, only one attempt so far has been made at a The Sensational Silver Queen script, and it's very recent.

There are four or five distinct eras of the GGverse I think:
Golden Girl, Bullion, Golden Guardian, and then new Golden Guardian with Bronze Buster.
Five if The Sensational Silver Queen is counted as a precursor era.

Personally I think that's fun since it keeps the project from ever feeling stale.

I like to think she became a global figure after the Olympic rivalry idea with Iron Assailant.
So let there be at least a few in-universe years between getting the bracers and getting a sidekick even if like 20 have gone by in "real" time.

Eventually I think we should introduce a villain based off of "comicbook time" who has weird rubber band powers and slides around like he's on ice skates, just to take the piss out of sliding time lines. There's enough meta wiggle room with things like the code being actual entities and the dark ages maybe being an entity itself as well.

Here's my idea.
He manages to make GG feel old by reminding her of vintage things like Silver Queen and other antiquated things but BB is able to stop him because she's so young and cutting edge. In fact she's so up to date on current trends that bringing up newer and newer things starts making the villain feel old and he begins to rapidly age. Until he's so weak he can be taken out with ease.

Or for extra fun, and to give GG the finishing blow you could have a super old GG fighting the now super old villain in a very physical fight, showing that even if GG is really old she's still strong enough to be a hero. Maybe end on a quippy moral about respecting old people.

Mainverse /coc/ sort of stagnated around 2016. It feels like new plots in the setting stopped being made around then and more focus was put on things that had already been established but didn't have detail, but even then there's still the art stopgap, so I guess everyone just got frustrated at the lack of actual content based on the ideas discussed.
