Use the school setting to teach the audience and the characters about the setting instead of having side episodes dedicated to dumping lore onto the viewers lap.
Focus on the four characters that the show is acronym-ed after. They can have side characters, maybe even focus on them from time-to-time Back when I gave this show way more of a chance than it actually deserved, it felt like very little of RWBY was about team RWBY. It's like if Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles focused more on Casey Jones, April O'Neil, Splinter, and 1 of the four Ninja Turtles.
Drop the racism thing, because they clearly don't have the writing ability to do anything with it that isn't David Cage levels of basic. If someone doesn't agree with the concept of "racism bad" I sincerely doubt your series about magic lesbians is going to change their mind.
If you just want the shows to about fights, then focus on fleshing out and understanding how people's powers work and base fights around the limitations of those powers.
I'd have faunus traits and dust be how people's aura's manifest. Then you might actually have an interesting angle for the racism thing, since having magic could be seen as being a more valuable ability than having a tusks. If you think this is a bad idea, you might be right, difference between the writers and myself is that I understand that watching Toonami does not give me the credentials or pedigree to create a series. So I haven't.
