This was some cool art direction, I especially liked how the Witch King looked with the floating crown, much better than the Peter Jackson movie where he had a seemingly empty helmet. In fact, I wish the art direction of those movies took more inspiration from the Rankin Bass adaptations. Yeah, Smaug may not look much like what one might expect, but you gotta admit that the mammalian head made him much more unique.
