>>123284557The Kirbys snuck in. They had contact with the authorities upon arrival, but it's not clear if that was enough to actually prompt a manned response. They probably just assumed they flew off with no issue. Even if the government did fly a survey plane over in response, it's not clear that they would have spotted anything out of the ordinary (the crashed plane ended up in dense jungle), or even that the survivors would have heard the plane (they were kinda busy running away from shit for much of it).
Plus, the state of Sorna like ~5 years after TLW is kinda different when compared to the state of Nublar *immediately* after a disaster where a bunch of people - including kids - are knwon to be missing.
>>123284587>I thought everyone assumed anyone left on the island is deadThat'd be a dumb assumption. The park is full of emergency bunkers, and there are plenty of random buildings/rooms that can probably be barricaded well enough. Hell, just look at those hotel buildings they have, it's easy enough to assume a small group of survivors might still be holed up in one of those rooms without being discovered by any dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are probably more preoccupied with each other than trying to search *every* building for humans.
It's just an obvious plot hole. Nublar would have been swarming with humans in the weeks following the Jurassic World disaster - teams looking for survivors/bodies, InGen teams looking to survey damage to infrastructure/assets, government teams just wanting to survey whatever the fuck was going on for their own inquiries, etc. And this is without considering the people sneaking onto the island for their own purposes (eg. poachers, BioSyn types, etc).
The kids have rich parents, and some are famous in their own right. At the very least this would motivate at least one search and rescue party.
